Week 12- Reawakend Part 5

Layla-

It's been six months since the mission. Why does it feel like he is still here? He has always been a part of me but he's gone now. I feel like I'm still waiting for him to transport but he's not coming back. I saw him fall shouldn't that be enough for me to believe that he's gone. I have to look out for Eli. I made Jay a promise. Eli keeps looking at the door waiting for his older brother to come back. He doesn't understand, he's gone even though I told him the truth. He's in denial. 
How can I let go when everything here screams his name.
When his presence is still around without him?
Jay-
I keep them safe from afar. Things are seen to be temporarily for now and I'm hoping it stays that way. I can't take all this lying to Layla, but I have to. It's been months since the false mission. The agency needed me to fake my death in order to protect her and the agency. So that's what I'm doing. It's not only her I'm lying to, but to Eli too. All I see is damage, even though the outcome promises safety.
Layla-
There's a new recruit to "replace" Jay. Assertive, direct. Distant partners that's all this new recruit will be to me. An asset that's all Jay was to the Agency.
