I'm not sure what to write for this blog.
I could write about the different smells in different areas. Here it is smoky and reminds me of a campfire for smores. In Gilroy, during the summer a garlic smell because of the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival. In Stockton, a strange farm stench mixed with manure and the smell of a cow slaughter house that hits you at the drive into Stockton but later disappears as you drive further into the town. In Monterey, a salty, pleasant aroma coming from the open ocean. In the Bay Area, the mouth-watering scent of door-opened restaurants downtown. Or I can talk about how oblivious Miley Cyrus is. Does she ever go back and "reflect" on what she does and wonders 'Hey that was really awkward of me to do that' or 'Wow! I need help'. No, that girl is straight up crazy! The media is already dealing with her, so why should I. I can discuss that there is more to a criminal justice case than just the facts and the evidence. The heartbreaking motives and story behind the case. The individuals that will be affected and left with an emotional, mental, and psychological toll. Or I can talk of how diversity can create unity. An office makes up of different individuals with each a different set of skills, but through those skills every person cooperates to run one business. A society consists of a variety of people, with different opinions, conceptions, and perceptions creating a cultured society.
Yes my thoughts are scattered but Mr.Burge did say to write about anything.

Week 1- Poetry
Burge's AP English class started poetry and discussed the consideration that poetry is "central to existence" and "fulfills humans spiritually." There was mixed thoughts on poetry within the class. Some loved it. Some disliked it. Some just agreed on a side because they spaced out.
Although I enjoy certain poetry, as I am picky when it comes to poetry, I consider poetry as a concept that can help improve the way one writes but also as a simple past-time activity such as listening to music or reading that can create and lead to an imaginative and intellectual revolution within an individual. Poetry can improve writing as becoming a muse or influence- turning an unenthusiastic writer into a passionate and inspired writer. Music and reading also can do the same. As rap is lyrical melodic poetry and in some books the diction of a passionate author can turn passages within their book to create an impression towards a reader as poetic eloquence. However, I do not believe poetry is "central to existence" towards humanity nor "fulfills humans spiritually". It is the wisdom and knowledge collected from poetry, books, lyrics, from past tribulations, from personal experiences that fulfills the core of being simply human. It is the struggles, the pain, the faith, the love, the joy, the passion one experiences that is self-evident in humanity's existence that makes humanity a bittersweet mystery. It is the good and the bad in life that molds and fulfills humanity's core and central existence. Humanity's walk and journey- simplicity and complexity all in one.
