*The following is the start of a story series not a real-life story*
Jay-
Should I take the mission? Carry out the task? Flashes of images compromising Layla's identity run through my head. But that means lying to Layla. No I'm doing this for her. It means protecting her just like I would do in a normal mission. No matter how much pain this causes, no matter what happens I have to protect her. I have to go through with this even if it means I'm out of the picture.
Layla-
I remember the day. Felt the same when I heard my parents were gone, but this time I didn't have Jay there to comfort me. I remember going on a mission with a simple task. But this time someone fought back someone ambushed us. It was like they knew we were coming.
The rod. The cliff. The fight.
In and Out simple mission they told us. No threats. The agency insisted on us to go because we both train effectively and compatibly get the job done efficiently. On other missions there were always threats, but it was easy for us to defend. But this mission the atmosphere seemed different.
I noticed there was something in Jay's eyes. Something that seemed to be bothering him. I know him well enough to see it in him. I was going to ask him after the mission but all I saw during the mission was the rod pierced and thrown down the cliff with an deadly echo. The threat tried to make its way to me but I aborted and transported the mission alone.
